Edith A. Block, M.S.
Edith earned a Masters of Science in Psychodynamic Counseling for Children and Adolescence from Birkbeck College, University of London in 2007. Following the first Master’s Degree, Edith decided to enter into a Masters of Social Work program at Salem State, commencing September of 2014. Edith also holds a Bachelor of Social Work from Westfield State College. Edith interned at both a middle school and a high school in London, England during her first masters experience.
Edith has earned her post masters experience counseling children and families in crises. Edith spent 3 years directly counseling these at risk families ensuring safety within the home and working towards increasing relationships within the family. Edith spent approximately 4 years supervising counselors and supervisors in this same field.
Edith is working on a second master in order to earn an independent license in social work. Edith is trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as Child Parent Psychotherapy. Edith looks forward to working more in the field of court investigation work. Edith has been supervising parenting time over the past year. Edith is able to create relationships with those that she serves, which allows the individual to feel comfortable in the therapeutic relationship.
