INTRODUCTION

Over the course of the preceding twenty years, I have been committed to the field of Child Welfare. I am a skilled clinician in terms of the assessment of risk, diagnosis and the development of treatment plans for children and their families. Furthermore, I am experienced in the field of Adoption involving the Assessment of  Adoptive Families, the Treatment of children and families involved in the Adoption process and the life long adoption journey. The following experience provides a summary of my professional career.


PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Court Investigator -  Guardian Ad Litem – Parenting Coordinator -Evaluator Boston Juvenile Court -  Middlesex Juvenile Court – Norfolk Juvenile Court - Suffolk Probate Court Middlesex Probate Court
·         Conduct Independent Interviews with all parties and professionals involved with a child and the family brought to the attention of the Court.
·         Observe Parent / Child Visitation and assess the interaction based upon a series of contacts.
·         Review Records, Mental Health Reports, Psychological Assessments.
·         Evaluate High Conflict family systems where issues of custody, visitation and child protection are at issue.
·         Prepare a Comprehensive Written Report on the Findings in a Timely Manner, including a Summation and Recommendations for the Court’s considerations based upon Factual Information and Clinical Impressions.
·         Testify as an Expert Witness in Child Custody Hearings/ Trials.
·         Coordinate Parenting Plans in High Conflict Divorce and Custody Actions
·         Provide written explanations on decisions rendered in a timely manner
·         Intervene where disputes exist and mediate a resolution driven by the principle “in the best interests of the child/children”

Forensic Evaluator – Consultant
·         Conduct Forensic Evaluations in Child Welfare Cases involving issues related to parental fitness, visitation, where children have been alleged to be victims of severe abuse and or neglect or subject to a high conflict custody dispute
·         Interview family members and important others in an effort to gather all perspectives on the referral question
·         Examine records from a variety of disciplines
·         Integrate data gathered and psychological testing in formulating a clinical opinion and recommendations
·         Prepare a report bringing together all of the data collected
·         Appear in court as a witness in child custody proceedings.

Preventative Early Childhood Service Consultant

·         Providing training and consultation on site to children, parents and staff at a

Head Start or Early Head Start Center;

·         Collaborating with the Head Start/Early Head Start staff in order to increase that

program’s capacity to effectively support parents challenged by depression and

related adversity;

·         Coordinating and implementing the project’s clinical interventions with ongoing

clinical services conducted by Head Start/Early Head Start clinical staff;

·         Coordinating and implementing the implementation of on-site pair, group,individual,    and classroom interventions;

·         Providing crisis coordination and triage referral to community mental health resources;

·         Consulting with parents regarding parenting strategies and supports through groups or one-on-one.

·         Prepared reports for the Courts with regard to the recommendations for the finalization of the adoption after evaluating the attachment relationship and parenting capacity of the preadoptive parents.
·         Facilitated Workshops for professionals and families, including parents and children involved in the adoption experience.
